Hey guys I live in Southern Alabama near Dothan. I'm trying to find local knife makers so that I can meet up with and pick their brain.

If there is no one then that is cool. Just wanted to meet and grow in the knife making.

Dothan is a fair haul from Oxford, but I'd be glad to have you visit if you are in this neck of the woods.

You might want to consider going to your local Books-A-Bazillion store and pick up a copy of Knives 2012. It has a listing by state of knifemakers, complete with their contact info (in most cases). Not only that, but it is filled with some nice eye-candy.

It is a little bit of a drive, but one I would be willing to make to get some face to face time with someone that has been making knives for a while. I will definately have to schedual some time to make a trip up the Oxford way. I will shoot you a message and we can go from there. That is if you would like.

It's nice to see there is another knifemaker with the same name as mine, albeit spelled differently. My name is pronounced the same, but spelled correctly: "Schuyler", the old school spelling, so I know you are a youngster, spelling it phonetically like that, hah!

Anyway, I live on the east coast of Florida, but pass right through your neigborhood on my way to deer hunting up near Luverne, AL in January. If I get up there this winter perhaps I could contact you and see if you had some shop time for a quick visit.

Keep making. And be sure and make the short hop over to Atlanta for the Blade Show- that's where you'll get plenty of information and inspiration.

I'm representing North Alabama near Huntsville. Been making for a little over a year, although I grew up around my Dad making knives.
