Need to snap 1/4" off tip of my Um and lge Sebbie

Need help. I have an Umnumzaan and a large Sebbie. I thought Florida's concealment permits applied to both guns and knives? I'd read you guys have pretty permissive legislation. Legal to purchase and carry autos, for example?

Send it to a sharpener that is qualified and have them reprofile the blade....Or send them to CRK and have them do it. Can't cost very much to have it done.

Ummmmmm. Unless there is a local ordinance where you live you can carry a 3.5" blade. There is no state law in Florida that limits the length of an openly (clipped) carried knife.

Plus 1 top not ruining two beautiful knives. Either know it's not going to every be an pause unless you are an active gang member or irresponsible.

And you'd be better off trading it for something smaller than modifying a beautiful knife like that.

I'm back. Sorry for such a silly post. Fell asleep on the keyboard. Late nights.
Anyway, my two BOYS live in Colorado and the blade-limit is 3 1/2". I'd like to get them large Sebbies or Umnums (my boys are 6'4") but cannot send the standard knives as the blades are slightly over-length. I have a lge Sebbie, an Umnum and a small Sebbie also and I can't use the "small," as my hands are too large; same for my boys.
Does CRK provide such a service, or should I contact some knifemaker here on the Forum?

I would call CRK and ask if the blade could be cut down to 3.5"s, if that's what you want. Personnally I wouldn't do it with the Umnum. But a large Seb shouldn't be a problem for the factory. I once dropped a small seb onto ceramic tile and busted the tip off, sent it to Chris and the blade came back perfect, abate slightly shorter!

Hey, guys. I just called Heather at CRK. She said they do NOT shorten blades. The knives tend to change hands a lot, and a new owner of a shortened knife could send it back and demand a new blade of "proper" length. So, for liability concerns, they do not shorten blades as per my wishes.
Also, IF I understood Heather correctly...CRK did incorporate a larger cutout on the scale in order to allow for easier one-handed unlocking. There was a recent post and pix of a newly manufactured Umnum, and I then posted a pic of my older one which seemed to show a larger cutout on the newer models.
This has always been a two-handed operation for me. Again, IF Heather was talking about "unlocking" and not "opening" the blade. I'd feel dumb calling her and asking again.

There are other knife refurbishers that probably shorten your blades, but that will void your warranty.

I live just south of Denver and every good working man here carries a knife. I have never seen a law enforcement officer bother any one about the knive he or she is carrying unless you are in some other kind of trouble. I carry all the time and have never had any trouble.
