    I like how it looks with the bare steel.

    Curious if anybody has ever tried firearm bluing on a Becker?

    I see some of you have polished your Beckers to look like it's chrome plated. Does this help at all with rust prevention? I assume it wouldn't.

    I'm pretty sure the polishing helps prevent rusting. Not sure if it is because there are no spots of the water to lay or if it is the buffing compound that protects the pores, but I have had good luck with my straight razor that I have buffed not rusting. I stripped my BK 9 also but I have yet to decide what type of finish to use on it.

    Yeah, its because theres no nicks/scratches for the water to go into.

    Byte, yes, I've blued all my beckers, I find it helps abit with rust prevention since blueing is a form of patina after all (I think?). This is the best pic I could dig up.

    Byteblock;

    Wander around the forum, or do a search on "bluing". Most of the etching mods here involve bluing to some extent.

    Yes there are guys here that have done it and yes the polish helps prevent rust. When it's polished there is little or no texture to collect and hold moister.
