Is there a coating on the 0550 titanium frame?

Hey guys I recently received my 0550 and switched the pocket clip to tip down carry as that is what I prefer. The only problem is it appears that there is a coating on the titanium that didn't get finished under the clip, I have included some pics. This isn't the end of the world as I do carry it but It just bothers my that a brand new knife of this cost already has a noticeable blemish for lack of a better term.

That's pretty odd. I would think it's just something that rubbed off the clip or a shine mark that the clip put in the Ti. The Ti is bare, just bead-blasted.

No coating that I'm aware of.. just bead blasted. Try washing it with some soap and water and if it doesn't come off that more than likely means it is an abrasion from the clip.

Looks like a bit of stray dried Locktite.

Thanks a lot guys that was my question, I didn't want to really start putting the elbow grease to it if there was a coating that was coming off so I didn't make it worse. I guess it was locktite but man it didn't come off easy lol. Great help guys.
