Crazy people on ebay

yup, people on ebay are crazy. A colleague at school sent a guy a low ball offer for concert tickets the day of the show thinking he would rather sell them then lose out. He was so insulted he sent him a flurry of e-mails saying how insulted he was. Then since the kid was using his school e-mail the guy decided to look him up and started e-mailing the chair of our department complaining about the low ball offer.

and by the way he probably meant to change the price to 1290 but screwed it up.

There are so many of these sorts of sellers on ebay that it's hardly worth talking about. I'm into Finnish puukko and there are
sellers on there asking 150 for Swedish knives in Finnish sheaths; one asking 1500 for a no idea what it is, etc. I just laugh,
shake my head and move on. What really tics me off are sellers who don't list the blade or knife length for fixed blade knives
like puukko. I''d like to bid on some of them, but won't without knowing the size of the knife.

Yeah, that's annoying. Just like how the cars dealers post their rigs on craigslist like every other day. And they use a huge list of "keywords" (whether related to the rig or not) that way when you search for say "1 ton crew cab" you get a huge list of crap including a pimped out Vega. It sure detracts from the usefulness of the sites.

What someone is willing to pay, voluntarily, defines present "worth." "Worth" exists in the real world, not in the abstract. Of course con men have being trying to convince people otherwise since the dawn of the scam.

Good idea. A few things you can do now are to restrict searches by region, like just get sellers from North American for example. You can also build custom searches that leave out sellers you identify, so for example it won't drag in items being sold by the asshats that post 1000 of the same crummy item.

Since I'm in the scavenger business I sometimes do business at Flea Markets. Some of the things people buy/sell things for is ridiculous. I wants saw a guy attempt to sell a 20dollar phone for 100 dollars, and was mad when no one was buying them.
