I was kind of surprised at all the EDC gun pics. I occasionally take my colt combat commander or taurus judge with me on road trips, but never carry it around town. It is too hot here to effectively conceal it on my person and I am a little worried I would pull it in a fit of impaired judgment while driving to work one day or some other silly situation where It wasn't warranted. I have had a gun pulled on me a couple times, once when I was cut off and almost killed while riding a motorcycle, I followed the jerk and he eventually stopped and hopped out with pistol drawn. Another time a woman "felt threatened" and drew on me while walking in the neighborhood. Both times were situations that could have gone a lot worse after introducing a pistol into the mix. When I was younger I would keep a .22 and a shotgun on the back window gun rack.. even when going to school. Had to be ready for after school dove and rabbit hunts. I don't have an aversion to guns at all, I own quite a few, just not 100% sure weather I should carry one or not.
Have any of you had a need to actually use a weapon while carrying? I have been thinking hard about getting my wife and I CCW licenses for a while now, but I still have a lot of reservations.
I have a CCW and carry everywhere it's allowed, concealed in public, and open on the farm or in the woods.

I have taken the required course and studied the related laws so that I know what situations and circumstances warrant the use of lethal force. I practice often, though not as often as I would like, so that I am a safe and proficient shooter.

It is, however, not for everyone. Those unable to understand self defense law, or those unable to deal with the implications of possibly using lethal force against another person would be better off not to carry.

Research it and make the right decision for yourself.

And I had to use my sidearm a couple weeks ago, on a possum that had broken into a well house.

Thanks. I'm pretty fond of it too. I still haven't found another gun that feels better in hand.

    Hey Uncle,
Not rude at all man. My dept has two of them the big boss and myself. I am a Rangemaster/Firearms instructor, so my boss kinda trusts me to carry it and use it wisely. And yes they are regulated but as a police dept we can purchase automatic weapons, it's not really that hard for us to get, as far as price you would be amazed at how much they sell for, extremely reasonable. It's just like carrying any other firearm to be honest it just has a selector switch

Either FN 5.7, 1911, or S&W J Frame. Becker Necker.

Firearm changes depending on circumstances. I'm comfortable with all three. Knife is always with me. I also usually carry a folder in pocket. Lately has vacillated between Three Sisters Forge Lefty Beast, Spyderco Paramilitary 2 and a Lefty Hest 2.0. Lefty Sebenza also makes occasional appearances.

Kahr CM9 and Becker BK14. On me 24-7 (except the shower and gym - although they are not far behind).

Glock 22 and benchmade something or another. I don't know the model, but I've been carrying for at least 15 years.

It's a solid 1911 for the price. Made in Brazil by Imbel. Nice forged frame and slide, sadly all the other pieces are low quality, except maybe for the grips. It is known to be a good gun for building off of. Will post new pics soon.

When I took those pics it was the first day i got my BK-2. I had an absolute blast beating on that thing with an oak baton.
