&*%^@ Off to Photobucket.
Should really do this more often so I easily recall how to do it.
Stylized smith in apron at his forge?
Closer makes fuzzy. Knife in Finland at present.
Seems its a YP for Yrjö Puronvarsi
A picture of another one of his forged blades.

As his blades sell separately, I have to wonder who actually built the puukko. Not a handle like the dozen of so of his I have found.
It's not just puukko it's small Saame knife.

Yrjo in action.
Nice looking, practical blades. I think I might need to get one.

Well, I ordered one, and just finished putting a handle on it. These blades are very strange. They have no secondary bevel. Their grind is very similar to a Japanese sword. It looks, dull, and even feels dull when you run your finger across the edge, but it's an illusion. It shaves hair off my arm as well as any knife I own. A little scary. Here's the one I handled. It's a lot of fun, and not difficult. I cobbled the handle together out of bits and pieces from my scrap bin. The knife ended up costing me about $50 to put together.

Looks good!
Still awaiting mine.

That's a great looking blade. Could someone message me with a link or address where I could order some of these blades.
Best regards
Robin
