What do you gentlepersons carry for string, popping blisters, disemboweling rattlesnakes, filleting rhinoceros livers and whatnot? I confess to some non-Schrades, but here is a #34 with genuine red bone that will go intopocket once I hone it. A little smaller than my usual, but I have big pockets and a belt and often carry more than is socially acceptable (except in Wyoming, where we still have rifles in the back window of our pickemuptrucks, unlocked).

This Camillus #12 with a short line stamp has been the knife of choice for me for the last couple months. It is sharp, durable, plenty of heft, and not short on character. It would feel right at home up in Powder River country.



It was a freebie from Phil Gibbs, the best kind.

I usually tend to grab this one, a Schrade Cut Co 204 Nice and slim in the old skyrocket.

Just the ticket for working on your tube radio in the wooden cabinet! I met one of those recently in black celluloid, which unlocked by pressing down on the spine of the master blade. Is that less common than the liner lock?

I would say yes Cal. I think that many more would of been made with the lock blade. Could be wrong though.

I would agree that that the press liner lock is more common (and more recent) than the press down lock release...nice Linesman!

The Schrade that is my key-chain is a Schrade USA ST2 and as such it is always with me. I like having scissors, toothpick and tweezers available and the small screwdrivers get used too.



The blade on these is barely a "real" knife so I always back it up with another razor-sharp cutting tool. This makes for two Schrade's at all times. Sometimes a ST1 multi-tool gets put on my belt as well and then I've reached Schrade count of three. Sometimes a big cutting tool and a smaller cutting tool are both on me bringing the potential Schrade-count to four lol

Most often it's the ST2 and one other chosen by need, size and whim. Lately my "small" choice has been a 1976 Village of Walden, Bicentennial "New York Knife Works" issue #0152 that had enough patina on it for me to use. Nice little knives...




A "medium" size choice I've been liking lately is an old grey Imperial. When nothing but shrinking celluloid will do... These oldies sure take a keen edge and I like the grey "Charlie Brown" pattern. Campy!




I used the Imperial this morning to open the box this (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/sh...w-0115-of-5000) came in. It worked very well despite it's warts.
