Please help with this fighting/ stiletto style knife.

Gentlemen!

I got this interesting knife as a gift today. Of course tried Google it but couldn't determine what this is...

Possibly Italian older boot knife? Fighting stiletto knife? Could be British?

There is only one mark on the blade - "6-44" and nothing else. On a sheath - one side stamped with "HUEY" (last name?) and opposite side - "29"
Sheath is made of leather with cooper fixture.

The handle is made of wood, guard is made of brass...

There seems to be further stampings in the bottom of the fuller on your third photo.? Can you do a large photo close up of that area?

My thoughts lean towards "sword and dagger" replica/re-enactment. 9"+ blade is a bit long for a boot knife.

Firstly, I'd agree with Ron.. Very ..

After studying the photo's here of this piece, the double guard appears to be hand made as does the scabbard. The scabbard seems to be more made old school for a sash rather than a belt.. And these are my observations thus far.

Agree, after all my researches I think this is some kind of custom knife, probably made in WWII era, blade belongs to some other dirk, bayonet, etc...

I was guessing some sort of cut-down myself.

Not just bayonets, but people were cutting-down swords in WWII and turning them into knives/daggers.

I'll try.. But doesn't look like handmade and looks original to the knife... Made of steel for sure.
