Beat me to it.Take a look at the BK12
lol... I love my BK12.... but I did finally get a BK7... was just delivered yesterday, actually. It's a really good size. For a 7 inch drop point, the RAT 7 or Ranger RD 7 may be the way to go.... I know, I know... they don't have the Becker handles though....![]()

Never made a drop point 7 personally but I have made a mini BK-9...Someone give me a 7 and I'll give it a go.
Me Gusta drops...
As for the 12 its has a lot of diferent features it's 0.188 instead of the 0.21 of the 7.
Even with all the balance brass thingies off the 7 still have a relatively foward balance.
The grind on the 12 is pretty hi when on the 7 is more like middle.
Amall things that make me wonder about a Drop that is vastly superior in every shape and form from the clip point.(Mean look at K-9)
Carlos,
Unless you want a 5" blade, you can't do want you want with a BK7. The clip swedge extends too far back into the blade.
IMHO, you'd be better off to start with a BK 9. Plenty of steel there. I think a 7" drop pointed version of the BK 7 would me a heck of an all around woods knife. If you want a 6" knife, then the BK 12 is just fine.
?? my 7 is 0.188... you must mean an old Cammie 7...As for the 12 its has a lot of diferent features it's 0.188 instead of the 0.21 of the 7.
