two prototype Gunhammers for sale from HTM

Being a man of few words that Darrel, I don't know the full specs except that one of them is assisted. These are for sale now. He says to email him personally for more info. dralphh at gmail dot com

Right off the bat, I notice he used a diff pivot pin. It's not the swirly tri wing propeller thing. It's also not a Celtic cross pivot pin like the very old generation Gunnies.

I do what the man asks me to. Not always, but most of the time. :P

It's kinda funny. I asked him what the blade steel was, if they were assisted, non-assisted, or had bearings. He replied with "Yes."

Yeah, I sent an email too. More details would be good...

    -edit-

Evidently they're S35VN. Shot blasted. Nearly as expensive as the forum knife, so I'm bowing out of this one.

The pivot almost reminds me of Zakk Wilde's guitar.

    Hello harkamus,
Do you think you could get us a status report on where we stand on the BF Gunhammer knife? Any kind of eta or something?
    Thanks...

Are these hand made type proto's? They look good. Is the blade shape different?

No eta. I replied in the other thread, but here's the pertinent information again. Darrel said roughly 6 months, but that was an over-estimation by his words. He rather over-estimate and deliver early than under-estimate and deliver late.

Your guess is as good as mine. Email him and ask. You might get a few more words than I did. haha

LOL, let's try to confine discussion of the forum knife/peppering Hark with questions about it to the threads about said forum knife (especially the sign-up and deposit/ordering threads, which have turned into the de facto discussion threads for it). Hark is like a hawk circling above the DDR/HTM forum looking for new posts to prey upon, so if you post something in one of those threads, he'll swoop down and reply to it. No need to post in other threads just to get his attention.

On the topic of the protos, I really like how the blue and brick red anodizing turned out: deep colors but also dark/subdued enough that they aren't an eyesore (a la Smurf Blue G-10). (Incidentally, was kind of surprised that the red got almost no votes as the handle color choice for the forum knife.)

On the blade shape, it might just be the lighting and/or angle of the photo, but I was thinking the same thing as TM about the blade shape being tweaked. These looking like they have a slightly more aggressive drop from spine to tip than the other (new version) HTM bowies I've seen. Again, though, it may just be the lighting or angle.

I think you nailed it on the Blade shape. I studied some photos for a bit and thought the same thing. I think the primary grind is also just a hair lower, but I'm not sure.

Either way, there is something fantastic about the GH's that I cannot put my finger on, especially the blue one. Gorgeous.

Just wanted to add some info I got via e-mail from the man himself

There are actually two of each color available and they are assisted. The rest of the info I got was covered already.

Pricing evidently varies if you bought a forum knife or not. You save 35$ if you bought a forum knife, says Darrel. Not sure if I should put up the pricing Darrel quoted me or not?
