Those have to be one of if not the prettiest of all the sterling ones. I can't wait to get mine. I already have a lady in mind that I know will love that little jewel!

Great pics Steve, they really show the gold.

Very nice....I was put off by the high cost of that little guy. However, now looking at the silver scale's thickness and the current cost of silver....it's a real deal! Thanks for the photo's.

Thank you for the kind words CA Dave. That means alot coming from the photo maestro.

Lady friend. Good idea. I cannot imagine any woman I know who wouldn't be tickled by such a gem of a gift. WTG.

The light really has a riot with this bright onlay work.

    Jb,

My pleasure. I'm tickled with this one. The scales are so gorgeous I don't notice that the blade isn't mirrored. Fewer fingerprints. It keeps it interesting that each silver Gent has its differences.

Another nice shot! I was wondering why I hadn't even received a shipping notice about my two and then noticed an e-mail from Buck in my spam folder ( ). It was a shipping notice sent last night at around 10:30 PM that they were on their way and should be here next Tuesday. No word on my 118's yet though.

They'll be here in time for me to take one with me to give to my lady friend as a retirement gift.

Thank you for the compliment CA Dave.

The 525 Gent has the 2012 symbol after the model number, dot in center of semi-circle open to the left. The inscription area in the center of the scale on the Gent is mirrored.

I received shipping notice for the Personal 118 buildout, charged for two on my credit card which Liz said wouldn't happen so may need to contact her again.

I was offered the ability to buy anything on their website (except custom or webspecial) @ 50% discount due to the oversale on the Personals being an issue with their site not working. I ordered an eight incht Chef's knife in red Paperstone. A nice gesture/upsale and since I gave my set to my Son I've wanted this particular knife for the kitchen because it is beautiful, fits my hand and cuts like nobody's business.

Website functionality for a North Idaho company has got to be a challenge to recruit tip top level IT craftspeople. Post Falls is kinda isolated. I do some work for a systems analyst who works on many different entity's websites from his mobile automobile and only visits his customers to install or remove hardware. He softheads in a mobile manner. As long as the sites work, I suppose.

Good luck with the relationship. That neck of the woods, Northern CA, has some beauty. Keep us posted.

Thanks Steve. The relationship is already well established. A platonic, best friend, brother/sister type thing (the only kind at my age that I care to have) and one that I hope will continue despite her move. We've been very close for well over 20 years so her moving away was really depressing me. Having the apartment at her home for me to use as a vacation place is going to be terrific and as you say, the area is a beautiful place to live and visit.

    hogger,

I agree. Sparkally like a diamond in the light.

Was a 111 ever made with silver onlays? And/or with gold etch?

Love the aluminum ones and I know of the brass-scaled models (wishing for photos BTW).

I've never even heard a rumor of a silver Classic. That would really be something to see.

I have heard rumors of a brass Classic, but then again, I've also heard rumors that Bigfoot and the Abominal Snowman exist. So far I've never seen any actual proof of any of those claims.

I can tell you direct personal story about something big and smelly in the wilderness. I can only repeat rumors about snappy-scaled 111s. And this is a knife forum. Secrets, we all have em.

Well the first one of these just hit the auction sites with a $35 bump in price....I hate that! The dealer types should not be able to buy these for re-sale until no one else who buys from the web special page wants one, IMHO!

They are the person that has stuff I want on a regular basis. You might consider saving them in your favorites file like me.

I want them all for myself but, you know, well, hmmmm, the one I bot went right to my lovely wife as a token of my affection for her. Even if I could afford a bunch more I figure that she would end up with them in short order. Yup. Probably would.

I got mine yesterday and I have to say that they are the best of the series. I've had all but the one with "Buck" on the handle and this version is just the best in my opinion.

I won't even try to improve on oregon's pictures by posting my own. If anything, I wish they came with the small velvet pocket pouch that the originals came with, I'd hate to have these beauties dinged up by keys or pocket change.
