    Hate the wait!!!

I just pulled the trigger on my DREAM KNIFE, a Zero Tolerance 303! And of all the days of the week to order, it had to be a Friday night! So I wont get my knife until Tuesday or Wednesday! I also just traded my Benchmade Mini Bone Collector, which was just too small for me, for a Kershaw Storm (which I wanted ever since I saw Dean use one on Supernatural) and a Spyderco Manix 2 in Translucent Blue (which Ive just always wanted) so Im very excited for those too. And those were also shipped on Friday, but during the morning. Im not the most patient person, so when I order a knife I check the tracking like 10 times a day. The Storm is a knife I like and am excited for, but the Manix 2 in Translucent Blue is just awesome... Ive never had a knife in color, and the Manix 2 is just sexy!!! But the Zero Tolerance 303 is my Dream Knife, and always has been, I just never thought Id actually own one. I never thought Id spend more than $50 on a knife... now my limit is about $130ish, but my Wife talked me into buying this knife for myself. She knows how much Ive always wanted a 30X series knife and knew I would never spend that much on a knife, so she talked me into it.

So what do you guys have on order that you just cant wait for? What is the knife that you were the most excited for? What do you do to get your mind off the wait?

Both of these will be awesome, and waiting is not easy.

In Canada a one month wait is not uncommon as well.

I guess ordering on a Friday doesn't matter much to us then.

I feel the same way man I've got a Kershaw Tilt coming from Canada and a Case Swayback Jack coming from Knifecenter. I check the tracking numbers a lot as well so don't feel bad. I think both of my knives will probably be here by Tuesday though. = )

Ive only waited that long for two knives. One was a Spyderco Zulu that I traded for internationally... I was sure that some customs guy pocketed it... but after two weeks it was at my door. The other was a Custom Made fixed blade hunting knife, but that was made from drawings of mine, completely custom.. so I knew that would take a while and honestly expected to wait for months, but it only took about a month. Its when I know I will have the knife in a few days that I cant stop thinking about it. lol. It gets so close you can taste it... then you cant make your mouth stop watering...

I waited seven months for my Emerson. I ordered it August 2010 and got it March 2011. I didn't know they ran production in batches. Wasn't tooo bad of a wait, only because I didn't know what quality in a knife really was. But then my brother got a Mini Commander in January 2011, those last two months were pretty frustrating to say the least.

Occasionally I wil receive a knife within 2 weeks after I pay for it but usually it is 3 weeks or better. I don't even think about the ones I have coming even 6 weeks is not unheard of. Of the hundreds of knives that I have ordered I have only had 2 that customs deemed to be gravity knives and those are the only ones that failed to make it into my hands. I have never had any bad dealings with sellers either on Bladeforums or elsewhere so I just expect my knives to show up eventually. And they do!

Ive only had one international trade, when I traded for the Zulu. I sent off a ZT 350 to Finland and it made it there within ONE WEEK, but his knife took two weeks and maybe a couple of days. We used two different shipping methods though, I always use USPS Priority Mail, Im not exactly sure what he used, I think it was Registered Mail IIRC. I still cant believe your mail takes that long to get to you on average. I wanted to rip out my hair when I was waiting for my Zulu. It wasnt so bad with my Custom because the maker kept me updated nearly everyday, and when he actually shipped it I got the knife within three days.

This time is just driving me crazy because Ive been counting the days for over a week, I was going to buy it two weeks ago but I had a family emergency, so after things calmed down and everything was back to normal I made plans to buy the knife yesterday (when I got my check) and I had been so excited I have been thinking about it everyday. BUT my check didnt even come yesterday when it was supposed to (I get my check directly from my boss, but the checks have not arrived at all) so I was devastated. Luckily my Wife being supportive, and also being a knife knut herself, she transferred half the cost from our account to our card as a surprise. I usually only buy a knife with money I have in hand, I dont like to dip into our accounts, but I havent been buying lately. I like what I have and now I want to focus on buying duplicates of my favorites, so I wont be too afraid to use what I have. Im glad that she talked to into buying the knife yesterday, otherwise Id still be waiting for my check. But now that Ive paid for it, and know it will be here in a matter of days, now I just cant stop thinking about it.

I mean this is my DREAM KNIFE. I NEVER actually thought I would have one, and now I have one on the way. What is your first or only dream knife that you purchased? Were you in disbelief until you had it in your hand? Do you obsess about your next or active purchase?

I have a 3V machete with horse stall mat scales and a 3V camp knife with cocobolo scales coming from Big Chris customs, a Svord kiwi machete showing up any day now, a 5160 gladius in the works and the HTM forum S90V gun hammer in around 5 months. Waiting is good for me, it's the only to slow me down from buying more.

I feel your pain, been waiting for almost a month ever since I decided to step up my EDC from a folder to a eskabar.
Waited for three weeks now, ETA is around mid October...but I think I'll lose my mind well before then.

I would have loved to order that Gunhammer. That is on my list of favorites that Ive never owned, along with the Offset, Taboo, Distorted, Lambert Justice, and the ZT 121. Those are the favorites I love but will probably never own. Except the ZT 121, that one is a must have, but I dont know when Ill buy it. I dont really need it now that I have my bad ass Custom Hunting Knife.

I think after the ZT 303 comes in Ill finally be satisfied with my folders. There is one knife I want, and will buy it after the holidays (if I dont get it for Christmas) but its not a folder... Its a Leatherman Charge TTI. I only have one working Multi-Tool, but it really really needs to be retired. I have one in really good condition still, but it is currently MIA, so Ive been looking around for a good one and I think the Charge TTI is a winner.

I too have a Big Chris knife in the works. It's a S90V kwaiken-style I drew up and he was kind enough to agree to grind it into existence.

    Tom Petty was right.

    Wtf?!?!?!?!?!?!

I woke up late in the afternoon today, I work the truck tonight (4am tomorrow), and I had a bunch of mail. I opened a box and my Spyderco Manix 2 in translucent blue and my Kershaw Storm came in! They are awesome. I used the Storm to open the other two packages, which were a Memory Card and a New Battery for my Wifes camera, and the last box... which I was too asleep to remember what else I had coming in today, the ZT 303 wont be here until Weds....... I thought! I cant believe it but my ZT 303 already came in! I ordered it LATE Friday night, and its already here. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU DAVE, AKA KERSHAWGUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
