    Acid flashback .

I'm surprised it got bids, probably more a testament to that seller's loyal fanbase, than actual quality of the item.

What is that guard, a door hinge pin?

I think it's a hinge pin for something -- notice it's not symmetrical. I think the narrower end gets pushed into something, and gets held by a spring.

I wonder if that handle really is candy. Sure looks like it.

The blade might be from a folder. Who knows how long the tang is....

You'd think he could have centered the blade in the guard, at least ... maybe there was already a slot or hole in the guard thing. It's hard to imagine anybody doing much fitting just to make that.

On behalf of all those of Scottish descent, I wish to say there is nothing of the Scot in that monstrosity. I'd say more, but we are not in W&C. Could this please be moved there so that I can properly describe that thing without fear of chicklet?

    Try selling the pieces separately.

It might be a theater knife... last year I saw a similar knife in the local elementary school's fifth grade production of Aladdin.

I don't see how one would get their thumb on that jimping. Maybe it's for scaling fish. It would be a hit at the catch-cleaning station down at the docks.

After you gut a haggis there's nothing left but oatmeal -- a nutritious breakfast!

Under the lot photo eBay is keen to know, "Have one to sell?"

Assuredly, the number of responses will tilt the supply/demand ratio in a way leading to a depressed market value for these fine pieces.

In the humble OP's opinion 'Sgian - Don't' is winning the witticism race as we come towards the straight where all hell may cut loose if the course veers off into the Whine & Cheese forum

I have never dared to dally or even enter the portals of such a place, but I'm willing if a moderator would give this thread a flick in that direction.
