you marinated your haft ?? how long did u leave it in the smoker ?![]()
Hi all, I recently tried a homemade wood stain of coffee, teriyaki sauce and red wine vinegar that turned a little more into a bath. needless to say, parts of it became completely saturated for 1+ hours.
Is the integrity and strength of the haft now lowered?

I don't think the salt in the teriyaki did the wood much good but thankfully it was only in there for an hour so it probably didn't penetrate all that deep. Give it some love in the form of several coats of BLO cut 50:50 with mineral spirits.
P.S. - have you tried that mixture on a Boston Butt?
