I got my first Emerson recently, the CQC-15, and the scales are ridiculously grippy. It feels amazing in the hand, but I am afraid it would rip apart the pockets of my jeans in just days. Do you sand the scales down under your clip and have you had problems with your pockets?

I like the newer G-10 with a rougher texture. I really don't have any problems with wear in my pockets.

If you stretch out the clip so it's not so tight, you shouldn't have any problems.

I sanded it down some, fixed that problem for me.

Stretching out the knife definitely helped a bit. But the scales are nasty in terms of grip - some of my top layer finger skin is part of the G10 now after stretching the clip with my hand haha

I lightly sanded down both scales entirely. Literally just a few passes with 800 grit.

Take the clip off and adjust the clips tension before putting it back on.

I took the clip off and rubbed both sides of the knife on an indoor outdoor carpet like you find at most work places....: ) Just right....
