First CRK?

I need help deciding between an Umnumzaan or a Sebenza 21....

I am about to go ahead and get the umnumzaan but does anyone regret not going with the sebenza first?

They are all great, go with the one that appeals to you the most.

The biggest difference between the two is the profile. I prefer the Sebneza, but go with your first instinct, whichever jumps out to you more.

You'll get one or the other eventually too. So, might as well get the one that tickles your fancy the most at this point. So, go with the Umni.

I would say go with your gut, I personally think the best to get first is a Sebenza. Such a smooth knife

I'd say go with the Sebenza. It's classic and simplistic, especially compared to the Umnumzaan. Both are great though

I'd say go with the sebenza too. It's more simple. It's truly CRK's masterpiece and must be held in person to really appreciate. You can always get the umni later. And, the worst that can happen? You end up with two crk's. Doesnt sound too bad to me.

Theres nothing quite like that first time you open it and hear that solid click. Just fight the urge to open and close it all day everyday.

In the same boat, trying to deside between the two, I believe I have changed my mind a time or two. Now I'm trying to deside if I want a reg sebenza or the polished blade version. I'm concerned the polished blade will show signs of usage more that the polished? The polished does look nice though.

I'm a bit late to the party but I would have taken the Umnumzaan over a 21 any day of the week. I personally just didn't warm up to the Classic/21 blade and handle shape after using the Regular. I know many peopel do like it and regardless of personal tastes you will be getting a superb knife.

You will be satisfied with either one.
So it's really a question of personal taste. Which one do you like more?

Personally I'd pick up a large 21 with the pivot bushing before they are phased out and replaced with the non bushing 25.

Actually, I was just thinking I might should grab a Zaan with the older pivot before they are phased to the new. I would think there are more 21s in circulation that Zaans right?

I talked with a gal at Chris Reeve's earlier today, wanted to make sure I under stood the changes on the zann. Also asked about the sebenza 21 being phased out, and she said they were not going to phase them out and that the new 25 were about 9 months away.
