Sheffields supposedly has a wide variety.
Hey guys. I'm trying to find some bright green canvas micarta. Tks and jantz only have rhe dark stuff and they arw normally where I go to for micarta. Is there a place that just deals in different micartas? Thanks.
Sheffields supposedly has a wide variety.
I got some nice bright G10 from usaknifemaker.com, I'm not sure where to find bright micarta, I haven't found any yet.
hey benjamin can you explain what they mean by 2x2 or 3x3 layer? thanks in advance for any help given.
I tried to order emerald green micarta from Jantz a couple months back and they discontinued it. All they had was OD.
Sure, G10 comes in wacky colors, but that's a slightly different animal. I think it shows bright colors better because the glass fibers transmit more light inside the matrix.

I dont know what it means by 3x3 layer but its cheap so i ordered a sheet of 3 color camo g10 and a set of 2x2 black and od green. What i cant figure out is why a whole sheet of camo cost me less than 2 smaller pieces of black and od green???
Black & OD Green G10 1/8"x1.5"x5" pair of scales 2x2 layer
Black & OD Green 1/8" scales 2x2
$4.63
Ordered: 1 = $4.63
and the whole sheet says this;
Camo G10 1/8"x10.5"x5" sheet 3 colors
Camo G10 1/8" sheet 3 color
$4.19
Ordered: 1 = $4.19
Anyone care to speculate?
i would highly recommend usaknifemaker as well. i recieved my order today. and i did indeed get a sheet for cheaper than the 2 smaller pieces. Plus i got 4 different types of scales to practice on. g10 and "micarta". great people and quik shipping.

2x2, 3x3 is an indication of the layering system
2x2 means that for each color there's 2 layers of laminate material, 3x3 means 3 layers of each color.
In effect, when you contour something of a lower number the 'rings' are tighter
Oh that makes sense, thank you for explaining it.
If you dont want to buy the mass produced stuff sold through the knife making supply stores then you can contact a few of the custom lamination makers here on bladeforums, FOD is one and I cant think of the other fake named member here who also makes custom laminations, you'll havta do a search and they should be able to make what your looking for..

I was wondering if you were still making much of your own micarta, Butch. Haven't seen anything about it, for quit a while.....or I've been missing it. I went to your website the other day but didn't see anything listed. Guess I should have just emailed you. What I'd really like to have from you is some of that sweet blue jean micarta....got any of that laying around?
Thanks for all the other replies to guys!
