I tried to order emerald green micarta from Jantz a couple months back and they discontinued it. All they had was OD.
Sure, G10 comes in wacky colors, but that's a slightly different animal. I think it shows bright colors better because the glass fibers transmit more light inside the matrix.

I dont know what it means by 3x3 layer but its cheap so i ordered a sheet of 3 color camo g10 and a set of 2x2 black and od green. What i cant figure out is why a whole sheet of camo cost me less than 2 smaller pieces of black and od green???

Black & OD Green G10 1/8"x1.5"x5" pair of scales 2x2 layer
    Black & OD Green 1/8" scales 2x2
    $4.63
    Ordered: 1 = $4.63

    and the whole sheet says this;

    Camo G10 1/8"x10.5"x5" sheet 3 colors
    Camo G10 1/8" sheet 3 color
    $4.19
    Ordered: 1 = $4.19

    Anyone care to speculate?

You're paying someone else to cut it. Buy a nice high-tension hacksaw and a good bi-metal blade, order full or half-sheets, and you'll start saving money very quickly.

If you want bright colors, I think you're kinda stuck with G10. Which isn't a bad thing at all.

2x2, 3x3 is an indication of the layering system
2x2 means that for each color there's 2 layers of laminate material, 3x3 means 3 layers of each color.
In effect, when you contour something of a lower number the 'rings' are tighter

If you dont want to buy the mass produced stuff sold through the knife making supply stores then you can contact a few of the custom lamination makers here on bladeforums, FOD is one and I cant think of the other fake named member here who also makes custom laminations, you'll havta do a search and they should be able to make what your looking for..

Alpha Knife Supply at www.alphaknifesupply.com has jade green, toxic green, forest green in G10. Their prices are very good. Their phone number is (425)868-5880.

That blue one is great! All three are really. Why don't the major guys make colors? I'd buy it.

I was wondering if you were still making much of your own micarta, Butch. Haven't seen anything about it, for quit a while.....or I've been missing it. I went to your website the other day but didn't see anything listed. Guess I should have just emailed you. What I'd really like to have from you is some of that sweet blue jean micarta....got any of that laying around?
Thanks for all the other replies to guys!
