Great video. Mike is a top notch guy. I had the chance to speak with him on the phone some time back and he treated my like we were long time friends, only wish I would of had more time to talk. I got a city boss from him a few weeks ago and it is perfect, I can't wait to put it to some real use. Thanks Mike.

    Mr. Snody,

I have to say, after watching your video for the 30th time (I'm on medical leave, what can I say, I have to take a break from Battlefield 3 sometime, right???) you Sir, are not only an amazing maker, but also, a very industrious, intelligent and highly educated man. So many things I have done the hard way. So many things I have over thought. So many things I have wasted my time (heck, probably even your time once via email...) there is a reason your are at the top of your game. I thank you for furthering myself, changing my EXPECTATIONS, and teaching me and others so much from only an hour of your time. Take care, keep on being Mike Snody, your the one and only.

    Cheers,
    Zach

I wish I saw him at more shows....really missed him at The Gathering this year.

The gold bars, the grill, the bling, in many ways....that's persona....he has style....STYLE.....you don't have to like it, heck many of you probably won't....Mike doesn't care.

This is his style, he isn't trying to get your kids to emulate it, although they might, because it is kind of fun.

My style is different, but Mike and I are simpatico, because we both have a style, a clear and definable style and we both came to it our own way, in our own time.

So....what is he the best at?

Mike Snody is the BEST at making his knives in his style. He has influenced quite a number of makers that want to emulate his knifemaking style, and you can always see the influence, but he does it so much better.

He makes a quality product, in fairly good quantity, with consistency and regularity.

He feeds his family, and still has time to chill, make videos and answer the phone in a pleasant and professional manner....and that right there is something that a whole lot of makers should try to emulate.

    Good on ya, Mike!

    Best Regards,

    Thank you my old friend.
I really appreciate your support and friendship.
It was great talking to you this week
Thank you so much for your generosity.
I really do appreciate your advice, the wheels have literally fallen off the proverbial economy and your counsel helps put money in my pocket.

The video brought your old buddy Cliff Stamp out of the woodwork.
We had 176 Positive Comments until Cliff showed up.
Cliff proceeded to question my heat treat methods, tempering methods and grinding geometries all in a condescending manner with a negative undertone.
We have sold over one thousand Boss's this year and Cliff is posting that we need to switch from 154cm to 01 with his triple temper heat treat recipe.
My viewers marked his post as spam. Let me repeat My Viewers marked his post as Spam.
When Cliff saw his post removed he became angry with me, even though I did not remove his comments.
He created two phony accounts under different names and began posting as three different people.
176 Positive Comments until Climp Stamp arrvied with his three fake accounts and began questioning my process making negative remarks about my knives being made in China.

What is wrong with these people??

Years ago I offered Cliff airfare to Blade, hotel room for two nights, and a room with which to speak about any subject he deemed worthy, and he scoffed.

My offer was made with sincerity....the fact that I know Cliff is full of shiiite, and his ASSertations would have been destroyed by the collective knowledge in the room.....he could talk the talk, but could not waddle the walk...and he didn't want to be in a position where his so valued personally held observations had the light of reason and experience shined brightly upon them so that they would shrivel and fly away like so much wind.

Cliff is a fat pud, you want to know what is wrong with him?.....he wants relevance and he wants the cutlery world to bow down to him and call him "Master" and he is really just a master baiter.

Offer me a ticket and a place to crash, and I'll be there with my opinions on display, and more importantly, a tape recorder and notepad to garner ideas and knowledge from others.

I wonder if it should be taken a a true sign of success if Cleft Stump crawls out of his burrow for long enough to insult you. At this point, he probably needs to "bring down" only really successful knifemakers in order to feed/project his ever growing feelings of inadequacy and self loathing.
