Living on Portland definitely has its advantages. I've picked up parts and had repairs done in 24 hrs from both Kershaw/ZT and Benchmade/Lone Wolf. CRKT, Leatherman and a few other mfgs. I still wouldn't mind a good old fashioned under one roof retailer to enable those impulse buys.
Back when Buck was still located in El Cajon, I was maybe 20 minutes away, and visited the factory store a couple of times. Never took the factory tour, though. I'm not sure of any other makers in the general area...maybe Strider, but I'm not into their knives

Can you just go pick up a part from kershaw? literally every single one of my spring assist kershaws need a new torsion bar right now (5 of them!). I just hate the wait when you send a knife in so i've been putting it off.
Also, i believe gerber is in the area and some others i can't remember. dunno what it is about oregon and knife manufacturers (maybe favorable laws?) but all we need is spyderco and we'd be king.
Solingen isn't too far from me either. Just over an hours drive. I've yet to visit though.
So is the Rotterdam knifeshop Hill Knives. http://www.hillknives.com/ but I haven't visited them yet either.....I really should one of these days.
I'm 10 min from a custom maker.
Marbles, Bark River, Rapid River, and Hess are all about an hour away.
I know nuh-thing.
