Recondo question..

Hello! I've checking out the X42 Recondo for awhile, to my surprise its a very low price fix blade, consider the steel. I like the blade profile alot. Wonder if anyone has one, and what do you think? Also does the kydex shealth comes w/ belt loop or clip? It is any way for it to horizontal carry? What's its OAL? Good for daily carry? Thanks.

Hi SharpEdge,

Since this knife is almost in production (due for a Septemberish release), you will likely not find someone with experience handling it. Here's a picture for all to enjoy!

Overall lenght: I don't have an exact number, but 10-11" sounds about right.

The sheath will be a tactical Kydex sheath with an innovative belt loop (allowing you to remove it from the belt without removing the belt). Horizontal carry can be done with creativity utilizing the slats on the side of the sheath. It will resemble this picture, less the clip...

Regarding price, we purposefully kept it low to attract more attention. MSRP is $109.95. It will also come in a tactical flat black TiNi coated finish for $139.95.

SOG's website featuring this knife is: http://www.sogknives.com/recondo.htm

If you have any further questions, just ask!

Having owned and used the original Vision for some time, I would like to attest to the remarkable peircing ablility of this knife. It acts as a wedge while it pushes, allowing you to thrust deeper into most materials. This Easter I found out this knife cuts through thick chocolate bunnies very well. Now you able to give the kids equal sized chunks. (I know it sounds silly, but it is true)

Hi Ed,

Thanks for the post and support. The Recondo should be even better than the Vision in that BG-42 steel will give outstanding strength.

The Vision is my Number One carry knife since it came out (the PE1 occasionally). The Night Vision with G-10 is the current model on my pocket with the lightning fast ArcLock.

Welcome back, Ed (or do you want to be called "Purgatory/Pergatory?).
