BG-42 rocks!

Well, I've had a chance to get to know my x-42 Recondo and I must say I'm impressed. The handle is a marvel to use, it just beg's to be used. However the real beauty of this knife is the steel. I've recently used the blade to pry plywood off of a window frame... I was really torqueing that knife for, and actually getting it to bend a bit. The plywood gave out long before the blade did. I'm impressed all around, the tip is rock solid.

Hi Tag,

Glad to hear its working out for you. As of now, there still have been no broken tip returns other than yours on the Recondo. Must have a fluke.

To avoid flame wars in my own forum, I will avoid telling you that using your X-42 Recondo for more than cleaning under your fingernails will void your warranty.

Seriously, Tag, use the knife hard in any condition you would feel any other knife should perform and not fail.

I'd love an update in a couple more months after you've further field tested it.

Take care.

Hi Ron,

I was going to get a strider before my trip to Alaska, however I no longer see the need. This is a fine example of the breed.
