Comments on the Desert Dagger

Not usually a big fan of daggers but this knife has attracted my attention.

Ron what is the finish on this knife? Satin?

Also, any experience using this knife from anyone? The info states that there are 3 edges (plain, serrated and fine serrations near the hilt).

Looks like you can use the pommel to bang stuff, too.

I would like to hear opinions regarding this knife.

Thanks.

Kodial PA:

Mine is several years old so there may be some minor differences with current production...

The finish is satin. There are indeed three edges. The serrations could have been left off - I don't think they have much practical application on a dagger. But, then they don't hurt much either. The metal pommel is very nicely done (much better than the KaBars)- you can bash with confidence. The blade is thin (looks thinner than 3/16") and comes very sharp so it cuts very well indeed (SOG puts a very nice edge on this one). My overall opinion - if you want a dagger this will fit the bill nicely. Excellent fit and finish. NOT a camp or utility knife. Think - light agile fighter.

Hi Guys,

The serrated edges add "field use" versatility to the knife. The finish is indeed "satin." The pummel offers great field hammering in a pinch. Blade thickness is .160".

I find it a very attractive knife.

Here's a picture

This is from KCI (www.knifecenter.com) where I am buying the knife from:

Sorry it is so small...maybe Ron can put a larger pic in the thread.
