Views on sog tsunami?

Hey, I've recently bought an older version of the sog tsunami and wondered what everone else's views on the new and older versions are and perhaps some comparisons with other knives.

Much appreciated, thanks.

Hi platinummatt, welcome to the forums. I have a SOG Tsunami and really like it. Don't have anything to compare it with aside from a few other SOGs. Mine is a new one BTW with the front guard. IMO it would make a great dive knife. Is a little more blade heavy compaired to my SOG Government, so it handles chopping a little better. Sliced nice and takes a good edge. Does a descent job in the kitchen too. Not as good as the Government, but still pretty good. One of the things I like about it is it's traditional shape. It has very nice lines and a good feel to it. Definatly a good user. Hope that helps,

Heber

P.S. I bet you would get more responces if you posted on the SOG forum.

I am very fond of the Tsunami and wish that I still had one. I also enjoy the lines and feel of this piece. Don't be afraid to work this one; it can handle it.

I have a Tsunami that has the front guard, so it's probably the later version. IMO it's the most comfortable and nicest-looking fixed blade I own, and I feel it's the most beautiful-looking modified tanto blade I've seen on a production blade.

Edge is extremely sharp and cuts very well. Too bad the Tsunami has been discontinued by SOG, but you can't go wrong with this knife!
