Mud Razor #37 extreme makeover

Here are some pics of my Mud Razor makeover:

Pic before:

Stripped and bare INFI:

Sanding to get all dimples and scratches out. Therefor the handles were removed (I discovered that my MR is number 37). I decided a "booty" job would do her good. Also the ricasso line is cleaned up a bit:

Tried a few different kind of satin grits:

Endresult my new MRLE:

That's really nice! I did not know there was an LE version without the corrugations and whatnot. Nicely done!

That is really some nice work. I'll be doing that to my NO-E once the coating is worn enough. Did you hand rub that baby? What were the various grits you used? Wet/dry auto sand paper? Good stuff!!!

LOL!!! Just ship some INFI to me please (SFNO's preferred).

Just to clear things up. I did not do much myself on the MR. All credits have to go to my friend who is a master toolmaker. I only did the strippin' and sharpening, made the decisions what to do and did some sanding myself (very little though).

I'll tell him that a careerchange to Busse is a possibility.

Wow, you should get some sort of prize. That is a very nice job and a really stunning knife. The pics definitely get a spot in my "things to strive for" folder.

Dave

PS - how did you do the fasteners?

Skills

I am not a fan of modifying knives, especially Busse knives.

You might be able to make me change my mind with this mod -- very, very nice. Your friend has real skills.
