BATAC Clean Up
Well you guys have watched the vids of me try to abuse my BATAC. To no avail I might add. Other than putting some scratches on her and a little dulling it remained perfect. However, just to show that a well used/loved blade can be brought back to looking decent here are some pics of me doing just that to my BATAC. This took me about 15 minutes today.
Befre clean up! ![]() ![]() The scotchbrite wheels I used for my drill. Medium and Fine. ![]() After! ![]() ![]() ![]() I want to clean up the spine a little more and then touch up the edge but that's it. All this only to get dirty again.

Thanks guys. I just bought these two drill attachments today from my local Merrit's Hardware. They are not as tall as my original but are a lot fatter. I felt that having more surface area coming into contact with the blade at anyone time would make the finish more consistent. They work really fast. I keep a tall cup of water for precautionary dunking just in case.

Tyrkon, (my apologies for the previous misspelling of your handle).
Now you gotta polish these blade to a satin finish. You are almost there.

No worries. Tyrkon is actually my given name. It's of Old Icelandic origin. Or so I am told. And it has been slaughtered in its pronouncement more times than I can remember.

Lastly, I did a little work on the Edge Pro and this thing is scary sharp again. Especially the tip.

Nice work, Tyrkon, love that new edge.
Also have to find out as to availability of these Scotch Brite weels over here in Aussie. How big a knife can you do on an EdgePro? |

Nice work, that's how to fully appreciate a knife. Work it, clean it, sharpen it for next time.

Now that brings up a good question... How DO you pronounce your first name?
I always assume it was something like: "tuhr-con" as in, well, "tur" like turkey and "con" like convict. ![]() My other guess was "tear"-"con". Tear as in the water, not the rending. For what it's worth, people constantly assume Stacey is a woman - not a 6'3", 230# guy. "Cutshaw" they can never spell even though it is spelled (thanks, Ellis Island) just like it sounds. "Gottschalk" would be the original. I work with a Kittilstved. That one is not easy for folks either.
