Kyle Lieberman is a Liar and a SCAMMER!!!

Beware, I have had a nice two week long exchange with someone going by this name wanting to order a custom knife.

I knew by the second or third email something was off.....but continued cautiously. He wanted to order a knife because he was a recently commissioned 2LT and heading off to Iraq.

He asked about a bunch of models that clearly would not have been wise choices...like the Persian Integral and Zombie Cleaver, than began to haggle about price, then asked for a military discount, then saw the MIG and asked for a military AND a dealer discount, so he could have extras in his shop. Then refused to provide the necessary documentation I asked for proving his military status, sent me a copy of his "cousin's" because the first MIG was going to him. When I finally decide enough is enough, and politely told him I think I will exercise my right not to sell him anything, he flips out and says I hate my country and just lost a sale to someone going to West Point and another commissioned officer, his cousin.

I replied, that three quarters of my immediate family, and most of my extended family all served, some as officers, I then pointed out his less then genuine statements. Like the fact that you are commissioned as a 2LT after graduation from WP, which he stated in his first post that he already was, then his last stating he was in his last year. Then asking for a dealer discount for his shop.....I wasn't aware cadets were allowed to have shops, at least not when I attended USMAPS they didn't. Anyway, his response and the lies proved he was a scammer.

So I don't know if he trolls here or not, but if he is still using this name, beware!! and here is the copy of the ID he did send me, his cousin supposedly, which I don't believe and turns out he has a colorful history too!

http://survivingabadchoice.spaces.li...26ayear%3D2007 if you scroll down a bit, low and behold, there is the cousin!

Tanya, check out this thread in Shop Talk -- Seems that we have a guy that is bugging some of you guys. Kyle Lieberman is a scammer, for sure. I'm sorry you had to put up with him at all, but glad you backed off actually dealing with him.

Do not try and pull a fast on on Tanya...the woman is way to clever and has way to many street smarts to outwit a moron like this. Tanya...all of those years of foster parenting do give you a sixth sense about stuff like that..

He's been banned several times already, keeps sneaking back in. Don't sell to him and don't waste your time even talking to him about selling him anything. One of his favorite tricks is to say "I'll take it" and then start haggling.

The cadet story is a new one on me. Last I heard he was the fabulously wealthy owner of three car dealerships....

I don't claim to be the sharpest tool in the shed.....but his cover story just happens to be one that I have some knowledge about.....having once been a cadet myself at USMAPS and having numerous friends who went on to USMA, when I did not.

The problem with liars is that once they begin to weave their web, it often tangles them up because they cant keep track of all the different strands!!!

Hope someone runs into him and kicks his smarmy cheating lying ass. wish it could be me.....

BTW Ren, you are right! as a foster parent I can practically smell a lie from a mile away!!!

Tanya

What a scumbag. Dishonest claims of military status should be held in the same light as as claiming to be a member of law enforcement and prosecuted in the same manor.

For an 18 y.o. this guy has been around. From his 3 auto dealerships in Chicago, a lambo to drive and a 2nd LT heading to West Point. Amazing.

If other makers were to require a copy of the Military ID as proof of eligibility, what do you look for.

Are there ways to verify the details on the ID itself -
Are there examples of real ID available?
Someone could photo shop up a picture & i would never know...

Are there ways to verify eligibility with the services themselves?
(the same way that employers confirm employment for a credit history ?)

The name on the military ID might be his real name. A quick search on google and yahoo turn this up:

http://www.pownetwork.org/phonies/phonies257.htm

http://www.geocities.com/glvan_929/a...d_p_xxxxx.html (I think this is a pay site or a join site)

http://album.romancescams.info/Galle...&photo=2169044 (this one has a script on it that slows me down but its definately the same guy in the pic here as on the id and on pownetwork)

If you read the pownetwork stuff it seems that Haberman uses legal action to cover his tracks. Interestingly enough when you google the name "Phil Jason Haberman" you get two results and this:
In response to a legal request submitted to Google, we have removed 1 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read more about the request at ChillingEffects.org.

clicking on the link (bold by me) leads you here:

http://www.chillingeffects.org/notice.cgi?sID=3824 which turns out to be a dead end, but one can assume that Mr. Haberman did not like what someone accused him of and took legal action against it.

To me, "Kyle Lieberman" is the alias. I came to this conclusion when googling the name in quotes. The Kyle-Lieberman amendment is something to do with war with Iran.

This is just my take on this guy. I'm not a detective or involved with law enforcement.

ETA more on Phil Haberman from google:

http://www.professionalsoldiers.com/...d.php?p=186268

http://www.geocities.com/vah11/Phil_...l_haberman.htm

http://www.dallasobserver.com/2005-09-01/news/g-i-jerk

http://www.lovefraud.com/03_trueLove...al_system.html

there are pages on google on this guy and at the end of every one is the same "In response to a legal request submitted to Google, we have removed nresult(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read more about the request at ChillingEffects.org."

Shame on you "Kyle Lieberman" or whoever you are. Stuff like this upsets me. What you did is disrespectful to the soldiers who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I am thankful for those people who willingly help soldiers who are serving and it pisses me off when others try to take advantage of that.

Do you have a record of this?
If so, keep it! Maybe turn his "legal actions" right around at him.
