Ka-bar 1461

why has this knife been discontinued? is there a reason to avoid it? just wondering because it seemed like the perfect little Nimravus look alike.

i believe them, that it is discontinued, because it's not listed on Ka-bar's site.

I don't think it's been discontinued. It's still available on KaBar's site.

I'm seeing some of the similarity now that I posted the Ka-Bar and a Nimravus Cub side-by-side, other than that they both have a somewhat traditional blade shape, handle materials are similar and they're both black. I don't know if I'd call it a clone, though...

The Nimravus full-size is a little different looking:

The Impact series are solid knives. I wish I'd gone with one of the drop points instead of the tanto blade I have now.

I just got one from Tomar's recently. One model showed as discontinued (the clip point, I think), but the spear point is still available. It's also still listed on the Ka-Bar site.

I like mine just fine. It's D2 steel, too, and a little thicker than the Benchmade.

The nimravus is more of a slicer, and ka-bar I wouldn't mind beating up a little more.
