I drive a ML500 Benz. They are made watertight and can drive through 27" of water with no leaks. They are high off the ground for a passenger vehicle.

Two days ago I had a breakfast sandwich and a hot chocolate on my way to work. I tossed the cup and wrapper in the trash bin on the floor behind the driver's seat. This morning I went to dump the bin in the trash can and saw that there were ants on food wrapper and in the cup. You have to give them respect for being able to detect those items in a tightly closded vehicle and find a way into the car.
