Spyderco Attaching Military clip causes poor action and lock up

I had the same issue with aftermarket deep carry clip. No matter what I tried, it kept binding the open/close action.

Put the stock clip on, tightened down all the way, no issue.

Never figured out what the problem was, but perhaps my story may help on some way.

Never really liked the deep carry clip that much anyway, so no big deal.
 
Something is out of alignment. I know you say you tried everything but you haven't found the right combination just yet. Fully disassemble the knife. Install the clip to the scale and liner first. Then assemble the knife with the frame screws "loose but snug", open the blade with authority several times allowing it to snap into the locked position then do your final torquing of the frame screws and set your pivot tension. Something in your process is causing distortion in the liner during reassembly.
