I remember the days when the "mod" for adding ESEE-Izula scales to the EsKabar was big..... well it's the ESEE-heads turn now although I make a lot of Izula sheaths for Beckerheads too. This is a simple mod and to be honest I didn't do much at all to make them fit, I literally just muscled them together a couple of times and they snap in place no problem now.
Here's some pictures of the venerable Izula wearing some BK14 scales:
Here's a close up of the scales and the shape of the scales:
As stated above I didn't really remove any material and just forced the scales into place but I've high-lighted the areas where the Bk14 scales make contact with the Izula:
Here's a close-up of where the scales come out past the frame though not by much so I'm not sure I'll spend much time worrying about it.. it's really minimal:
Pros:
You get two sets of scales per bag for about 12-14.00.
They cover the whole handle so you can get a pretty good grip while the huge hole is covered.
They're slightly contoured (thicker in the middle) though I like the flat scales more because they're thicker.
You can use one set for your BK14 and one for an Izula and did I mention they come in ORANGE?
Cons:
Slight protrusion towards finger guard & choil area but again very minimal.
These won't fit the stock sheath (see below).
You'll have to take a dremel to your stock sheath to make these fit... I'd just place the scales over the knife while inserted into sheath and then trace the top/forward portion... then start sanding. Or I can always make a Kydex sheath from my set and send them directly to you too.
Sorry if this has been shown before but I haven't seen it so I figured I'd share.
Eli
