I like this compact layout/matrix for the date codes. Easy on the eyes and a quick handy reference.

I'm not sure if I will actually use it as a mouse pad or put it into the display case. I use a photo of this, for interpreting date codes, as background on my computer's display desktop. This works well.

A terrific Buck model 102 Woodsman and its sheath for scale.

Entirely my pleasure. You are welcome. I would like this on a plastic wallet-sized card for when I'm out of the office and eye balling vintage Bucks at a show or other sale.

On a mug, or window sticker, or how about peel and stickies, what about post-its, t-shirts, and then there are...

ITE needs this on his shirt sleeves at the flea market :)>

Make a note that it missed the Buck* stamp of 1967 and didn't mention the Double-Dash of 1992.

Oh yeah......1973 is not mentioned anywhere.

Those are the only omissions I noticed so far.

:)

Oregon, I thought that was a prototype you were developing with a copy taped to a pad. My mistake, that should be a BCCI extra offering like the flashlights.

I figured that Joe Houser made this matrix.

Does anyone have this date code format from Joe?

73 is present in the date and symbol box 72-86 3 liner catagory, one just has to extrapolate that there is no symbol or dot next to it because it doesnt fall in the 2 dot category of 74-80.

the double dash isnt the official symbol of 92, the dash itself is. The second dash was installed for warranty dept purpose because it has a slightly different spring holder and if a dash symbol came back they needed to know which replacement parts to install.

Oregon, that's some good idea you have... I could use a plastic wallet sized card more for the swap meet... But a T-Shirt would be find...
How about a Buck Calendar with it on the front page and lots of pics of the Buck family making Buck Knives... ITE ... ;)

Those e-Bay guys want $20 for one little mouse pad.

:D

I'll pass.

But thanks to this thread it's on my computer wallpaper background and on my phone........so things could be worse.

Great idea, but expensive mouse pad.

:)

Costco online does this kind of stuff: Your photo on a mousepad, coffee mug and even on a blanket! You never even have to get up off your seat because you do it all online and they ship it to you. I don't know about a date code blanket but why not a logo blanket, do I need permission for this from Buck I wonder, with the hammer, anvil, knife and bolt for example:
