  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Cheap, quick, and easy solar shower

for hurricane prep.....for long term power outage (my hot water heater stays warm for a couple of days) I store non potable water in a 33gal heavy duty trash container in my tub/shower which gives me water for flushing into the toilet bowl, and space to stand to take a shower... hot water for shower is a dedicated (no pesticides/herbicides) pump type garden sprayer wrapped with a black trash bag (black paint was not very durable).... I have a low ceiling in the bathroom, and not enough room to hang any type of bag...worked well in the 04-05 season... power was out for about 6 days

I just came in from transplanting a couple of trees... 90+ degree sunny day and 120' of 5/8 hose does a hell of a job too

Very good idea. Practical and makes use of materials on hand. And after the shower(s) the bag might still be useable for camp garbage.

I've used a roll of 1/2" poly line for that Les, and yes, it does a hell of a job for a passive solar shower.
