CQC7A-Double Lock Detent?

This is my first post on this forum, so please pardon my ignorance. My CQC7A has what appears to be a second ball bearing detent on the other side of the blade opposite the "normal" liner lock detent. I've never seen this on any other knife and I wonder if it was normal for that production run (fairly early) or if it is standard. My CQC7B has the normal liner lock-side detent. Any idea what goes on here?

EKI started putting a second detent on knives in '99. It's normal.

Thanks for the reply, John. It's the only knife in my collection that has a double detent.
