Well I went out to the Lake to try some Crappie fishing today.:D

my biggest problem is finding large concentrations. crappies willingly take jigs but minnows are less work most of the time. however i think all will agree they are fine eating.--dennis

Thanks guys, I used a Arkie #1 spinner on a 1/16 Arkie rigged twirl tail,White, from Wal Mart. Then when they slowed down I went to a pink and chartreuse

1/16 jig. I caught about 30 but kept the best 25. Was a good day for me.Oh yea 10 ft. of water. Also I guess I should have put this in Dipbait's fish 2011 thread.

Nice batch of fish,I love Crappie!!Do you fillet yours?

I like them scaled because I like the skin and chew on the tail. But yes I did fillet this bunch.Have to feed the wife's family.

This was the best fishing day I have had in 3 or 4 years.Fun.

I've got to see if my friend with the boat wants to go out on Palmer. Or, ask a different friend where to walk to on Palmer to try for some of those from shore.

Mind if we use this picture, Jeff?

As a kid, I spent a lot of time pulling those out of Lake Okeechobee in Florida with my Grandad. He'd fry 'em in corn meal by the dozen. MAN, they were delicious.
