I apologize if this has been asked a billion times, but my forum search came up empty.....

My Pioneer, which I love very much, has an insane amount of detent. It takes quite a bit of force to open any blade/tool. It's enough to make the knife a bit dangerous, which makes me have to use extreme caution when opening. I read on another thread that leaving the blade halfway open overnight weakens the lock a bit, causing it to open and close easier. Is there any truth to this? If not, is there a solution?

the springs on victorinox will not weaken over time. i suggest get a smaller 84mm sak, they have weaker springs. also the small 58mm sak are easy to open and close.

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to pick one up. Not like I'm just going to abandon the pioneer because it's way too cool. But I'll take your advice and grab an 84, and a 58 just to try one out.

also let the sak check by a good knife store, if it is to tight then the factory warranty apply as well.
