hi all. this post is ironic, as it brings me first circle. one of my first posts on BF was seeking advice on repairing wood gunwhales on an old royalex mad river canoe.

of course, codger and mewolf helped me out.

well, now i'm back. i picked up an older fiberglass canoe yesterday that needs some work. the paint on the bottom is cracking, exposing the fiberglass underneath. also, the bottom has a few holes that are punky (rot). it obviously sat out for quite some time.

i guess i envision sanding the hull, adding some fiberglass patches and then repainting. but, "guess" is key word.

now, you'll have to forgive me, as i'm just starting my efforts in this regard. i have not done any internet/youtube searching. i came right to you guys. what an honor, huh?:D

anyway, any advice is appreciated. thanks all.
