Knife Laws in Canada

Is a small neck knife, with leather sheath, legal to wear/carry in Canada?
That is a complicated question to which there is no clear-cut answer.

Contrary to some of the nonsense posted earlier, the definition of what is a concealed weapon has proven flexible. One of the leading cases suggests that a knife is a concealed weapon if its design makes it effective as a weapon and if a reasonable person would be alarmed to know it was carried concealed in the circumstances.

Also, it is not true that concealment always requires intent. You conceal a weapon when you put it where it can't be seen, regardless of intent to hide it -- your knowledge that it is out of site makes the intent.

So, a neck knife can be viewed as a concealed weapon or not, depending on the circumstances -- meaning no one here can answer your question.

Although this is an old forum I do believe it is important to note that daggers or similar blades are also prohibited, if it has a sharp edge on both sides it will be confiscated
