Looking for my first spyderco. PM2, Delica, Endura

I love all of these knives for very different reasons... right down to the locking.
Next on my list is an Endura, then maybe a Dragonfly.

Great combo !
A little knife porn for the Spyederco two knife EDCers
those are both ZDP-189 . . . carry the little nippers (at work) for wire ties (handy for other stuff) to prevent the dreaded edge chip.

The daring duo

If I had to keep just one folder for all purposes, it would probably be my PM2, though I have other knives that I "love" more.

That said, I think the Dragonfly is my favorite Spyderco design. Never ceases to amaze me that I can get a full four-finger grip on that small a knife with my large hands, when many larger knives are uncomfortably cramped. Just ingenious.

I totally agree with that, i also have large hands and i can fit all four fingers on the dragonfly 2. Also free blurple pm2 picture

I prefer the Endura for a large blade or the Delica for small blades. The PM2 looks sexy with that upswept blade grinder, but I still like the Endura. If they would sprint run a Tenacious with a super steel, I'd suggest that instead. May not be a bad idea anyway. Mine is a sexy beast! I got all 4 of these within a 3 week period!

Wow is that an endura on the bottom left? Nice scales on that!

I personally like it, but im the kind of guy who likes a few shades of purple. What surprised me when i got it is that the scales ate not completly opaque. As for the steel, well its a bit of a pain to sharpen. But with patience its not too bad. Edge holding, well i believe makers on this forum said that nothing holds an edge like s110v when it comes to stainless steels. I personally like it, it does not require sharpening often at all. I can go a month sometimes without touching it up at all.

One thing i am going to need is a new sharpener. I am not new to knives (i know a good amount, all the blade steels etc) but all i have is my dads work sharp which i dont want to use on my knives because i dont want to ruin my edge. What sharpener do you use. I have been thinking about getting the sharpmaker so i can keep them sharp and i have seen the edge pro and kme etc

The sharpmaker is good! Its what i use to keep my knives sharp. its extremely quick and easy to sharpen basically any knives. As long as its primary bevel is sub 20° at exactly 20 and above it becomes much harder and longer to get a good edge. I personally plan to grab a DMT aligner kit to reprofile my knives at 15-16° and set a 20° micro bevel with the sharpmaker. Anyway, i digress. The sharpmaker is a good kit and you wont have a problem sharpening spyderco knives on it.

I thought the Worksharp was a good system, but if you want the best I suggest a KME ;)

I mean it isnt bad but from videos i think hand sharpening like using an edge pro or kme is better because you control it. I dont know though like i said though im not an expert lol

Hmm ok. I just have always not really trusted it but i might have to give it a few more tries. I havent liked it at the start but maybe if i get used to it. Anyways i might pick up a sharpmaker with my spyderco to just tune up the edge. Thanks for the advice. Its good to see another opinion because i have stayed away from it due to what i have seen on youtube and have been thinking i might want to get a kme.

The best thing about the sharpmaker is that there is no setup time really. I have mine at my desk with the white stones in most of the time. So if my knife needs a touch up, i walk to my desk give it a few strokes on the stones and in 30 seconds to a minute im done my touch up.

Give it a try i think for the price its very good, even considering its drawbacks

Yeah and thats why i think i am going to get one

I personally own the exact same knife and I use a kme for almost all my sharpening needs now with the diamond stones and patience I feel very confident in being able to sharpen this. It holds an edge better than my other steels I've only had it for a week or so now and rotate my edc's depending on how I feel on each day so I may not need to try to sharpen it for many weeks maybe months.

Get the PM2. It was the first spyderco i bought and it is still my all time favourite. Its their best selling model for a good reason
