Is it me or does anyone else here find low layer count Damascus more attractive than the higher layer count? It is less busy.
Great, clean work as always Hellize! Like the hammered face on the guard.

Btw, thank you, especially that you noticed the hammered surface :D I think that the devil always hides in the details.
 
I have noticed some folks using both low layer twist and even very "course" laddered crushed W damascus to nice effect on kitchen knives over the last couple of years. i saw a Michael Rader gyuto where he had done low layer W's with like 1/2 inch wide "stripes" and it looked fantastic.

I bet they do ;) Unfortunately those techniques are far above me.
 
My type of knife - clean lines and heel-less blade - thanks for sharing.

But I'm afraid, I am not familiar with the "heel-less" expression. Could you please lift the fog off my ignorance.
