My first forged blades

I just finished these two, tonight. They are 1095, for the larger, and an old file, for the smaller. They are hand rubbed from 500 to 2000 grit, and lightly oiled.

I finished the handles last night. I used boiled Linseed oil, and I love how it brings a little tint to the maple. I cast the fittings, in place, which I am not sold on. There was a void in the larger one, as you can see in the picture. I will have to try nickel, or even casting the bolsters separately.
