Anyone know who made these old hatchets? The one I bought has a really nice feel to it, a sharp blade and a great haft. Take a look:

The profile of the head reminds me of an old Norlund hatchet I had.

The Hudson's Bay pattern was made by several U.S. companies, including Collins.

Thanks. So it is in the Hudson's bay pattern? Any makers in Maine?

Snow and Nealley used to make LL Bean Axes and Hatchets. I do not know the time frames of their models.

I too was curious who made them
My guess on the time frame would be 40's- 50's
    Whenever the "camping" peak hit
With all the Coleman stoves and lanterns and cheap red 2 cell plastic Ray-O-Vac flashlights
    Maybe that was 60's??
