Hey All,
I need a little help. Anyone know where I can get my hands on old table ware. Silver plate maybe. Something that will take a design stamp without having to anneal. I need a lot of it. Knives, forks and spoons.
I'm helping a friend work on a art project.
Does not have to be in good shape. In fact the rougher the better.

If you find silver plate, chances are it will be tarnished and trying to polish it out will remove all the plate. My mother gave us some old silver plate flatware and we were lucky to salvage a few sets.

We purchased some antique full silver pieces and had them engraved for our wedding but the price on silverware gets ridiculous if you need more than few pieces.

Would stainless work?
 
I have a buddy that has a craft business using old spoons and such- he pretty much just haunts the thrift stores and stops at every yard sale he sees.
