Otter Ankermesser another typical German pattern (pic heavy)

A little late here. I bought one of the recent ones from Germany as well, maybe 3 years ago, It is nice. I also have an OLD one, with rat tail bolster. Made by Gebruder Berns of Solingen (the Brothers Berns). Fit, finish and snap are tip-top.

 
^^ toungeriver, that oldie sure is a robust looking knife :thumbup: The otter stamp on the blade looks great too! Thanks for the great comparo pic, now I've got another search to add to my list :)
 
Hmmm, interesting. I thought the otter was always a mark for otter messer that makes today's german anchor knife and that makes the k55k under the mercator tradename. You are saying that your older otter is not the same firm as otter messer? I myself have no clue on this, but am curious :)
