    Here's a feather stick in progress, getting to know my new Woodlore.

    I find quite a difference between different types and grains of wood. Right now all that I have lying around is some oak from a tree that needed taking down in our yard; it's quite hard and its grain isn't very straight. I am terrible with this stuff! The wood in this pic was much easier to work with.
