Here is one of mine. Anyone know what it is?

Ar-7 Custom Fore end mounted with a leupold. I like mine it's a pretty good gun for around 100.

No idea what is, but it looks nice. Around $100, really? Hmm..time to go shopping.

Ban, why didn't you bust that out? Just kidding, the CZ survival rifle was fun!

After reading up a little, your AR-7 is the best looking one I've seen. I'd like a nice spike's tactical .22, but at $1000+, I'd rather have an AK (sword that is). ;) Bring out the AR-7 next time (and FSH) if you can, I'd like to take closer look and learn some more.

AR-7s were probably 100 bills some time back. I don't even remember how much I paid for mine. The latest version from Henry Repeating are closer to 250. Mine is a really old Charter Arms version. Some say they are POS jamomatics. But mine functions flawlessly with my old barrel. I will find out how it shoots with the new custom barrel.

i use as a truck/trip/woods gun a personally modified Springfeild M6.22/.410.

This is just a general pic of some of the stuff i carry. i labeled the pic "Minimalist Kit."

i modded the front sight, sling & attatchment at the buttstock, rear sight, and took off that horrible trigger guard. i added the sling that i made miyself and added folding knife pouches to carry Silva compass-matchbox, Camillus millitary, multi-blade pocket knife, Mini-maglight AAA size and some spare .410 000 Buckshot shells. I also made a spare cotter-pin pivot pin that lockes the front and back of the gun together. see below:

borrowed_time - I've got an M6 almost like that, except in .22 Hornet. It's surprisingly accurate at 100 yards. Too bad they aren't imported any more. I wouldn't mind having one in .22 LR.

When did the AR-7's start coming with a bull barrel? Ban, is that a custom?

Years ago as a kid, I saw an interesting AR-7 variant in the display case of the general store near my home (those were the days - a real country general store with guns, hardware, food, etc.). Anyway, it was a pistol version with about a six or eight inch barrel that resembled the old "broomhandle" Mauser pistol. Does anyone know anything about these?

I have the Charter Arms ar-7 as well. I hate it. It jams constantly, double taps and is very inaccurate. I'm sure it needs a complete overhaul, but I don't feel its worth the money.

I'm going to get a 10/22 and get the folding stock for it. I found a used one (10/22) for $180, but I think I can find one a bit cheaper.

Charter Arms offered this but I can't remember the name of it. They already had the excellent little Pathfinder (Originally called the "Pocket Target") but the action on the one you are talking about was the same as the rifle - just with a pistol grip and short barrel.

Hows this?
Marlin 917v to start, with a 9oz trigger from rifle basix, a trued bolt, and threaded barrel.

Theres nothing like showing up to a rimfire benchrest meet with a gun thats spray painted camo and still shooting 4th place.

Then again, theres something to be said about iron sights on a survival rifle. These sights were custom made for this rifle, gets on target fast and is very accurate. The CZ manlincher has a fully bedded barrel and the butplate comes off to show a large cut out that holds 40 bullets, a spark-lite fire starter, and two cotton balls with petrolium jelly in a small plastic bag.

I think it was called the Explorer.

MY trusty Ruger 10-22 carbine stock, Ill have to find some pics of my Salvia air rifle as well, I like the carbine, it is a bit shorter than the standard and has a bit more rustic look to it. Only draw back is not being able to shoot without the mag, but its a good little rifle anyway

I've owned the AR7 and the M6 from springfield, way back when. I had a hard time adjusting to the trigger on the M6.

Right now I always keep a pistol on me in the bush, and just bring a rifle when I'm feelin' adventurous. Usually one of these:

Nothin wrong with a good airgun. I have an RWS34 with a Jim McCarrie spring sitting a few feet from my back door to deal with pests when firearm isn't appropriate.
