How To Toyota Leaf Spring

I have some leaf spring from a Toyota truck, and I need to know what type of steel it is. It is possibly from a recent model. I'm assuming a Tundra or Tacoma model 2016-2020. If I can know what type of steel it is, I can definitely determine the heat treatment and quench.

I’ll be impressed if someone knows what these are made from. There will be a lot of guesses. It’s best to have it tested but that costs money and defeats the purpose of using recycled material.

If from a 2016-2020 Toyota it is NTSS, if it is from an earlier model, it is OTSS.

NTSS - New Toyota Spring Steel
OTSS - Old Toyota Spring Steel

My favorite leaf spring steel is ROFS ... Rusty Old Ford Springs

That is as close as I can come. It can be many alloys, and it is unlikely you will ever know exactly what it is unless you have it analyzed. Best HT method is to treat it like 5160 or 9260.
