    Vintage lobsters let's show'em

Charles, That Henckels is a beautiful knife. A super rare pattern in fantastic condition. John's photos really make that knife look like a museum piece. Just noticed the master blade has nail nicks on both sides. Thanks for sharing, Barry

    "Old Knives"

Lyle The knife is not marked with NYK and there is a number on the reverse of which I can only read 86. Not sure if there is a 1 in front as the guard covers it up. Charles Charles, I believe the Pattern number on that beautiful NYK swing guard is 186. I found it listed in Voyles book, Vol...

    "Old Knives"

Charles, That's an outstanding 5 blade NYK....I have never seen a nicer one. As a side note that knife is one of the most expensive knives in the 1908 catalog at $42.00 per dozen. Thanks for sharing, Barry

"Made in Sheffield" 1830-1930, A golden age ?

Charles, That is one of the smallest whittlers I've seen at 2 3/16". Very cool pattern almost like a gun stock wharncliffe. That reminded me of an old one in my collection. This one is stamped LUKE FIRTH'S CELEBRATED CUTLERY on all 3 blades. It's a little worse for wear as far as condition...

"Made in Sheffield" 1830-1930, A golden age ?

Found this 2 1/2" closed (62mm). Wharncliffe whittler. All 3 blades are stamped G crown R CONGREVE PATENT. It has carved Tortoise shell handles and scalloped liners. It's very fragile, with a couple of cracks in the deeper carved grooves of the shell. Levine's book dates this 1829 - 1843. I'm...
