    Warning, sandy jeans!!!

LOL yes I remember those Sears jeans my mother would get us. STIFF and BLUE when new. Patches added as they wore holes in them. :)

    Warning, sandy jeans!!!

Been there done that. Grit collects in my pockets throughout the day. I learned to develop the habit of checking for it periodically. It will rub and scuff your knife badly sometimes depending how abrasive it is.

How does GEC respond to quality control issues with their knives?

Your memory is very good! Yes that’s exactly right. They incorporated my scale replacement needs by using scales from a run of 77’s they had going at that time. :)

    Cold Steel Ranch Boss

Great review and pics, thanks for sharing. I love the Stockman pattern, it’s a handful of useful edges with it’s 3 blades.

What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The H10 has become my favorite kitchen knife. After slicing an onion, potatoes, a green pepper and garlic cloves for a pot-roast I touched it up on my stone.

    Preventative maintenance question

Congrats on your new knife, can't wait to see it. I just wipe some mineral oil on the bone scales now and then during a sharpening.

    Gritty pivot fix?

Excellent point - counterfeit is something to consider (I don't know where the OP got it from, so wondering if this is possible).

    Gritty pivot fix?

Wow yes I'd be sending that one back. Very rare to hear of this, in fact I don't recall ever hearing of it, but I'm sure sometimes it must happen.

    Red alert traditionals!

Hey Harry, Ref the #38... It’s a very slim and graceful feel in the hand. A gentleman’s knife for light duty use. The red sawcut 77 had to be rescaled after a heart-breaking drop on the tile floor in the kitchen in the summer of ‘16. It went back to GEC for repair and came back as a Copperhead...

What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

After two months of daily carry of the #55 on a whim I switched to another old favorite... The spear/coping #77 Barlow is now in my pocket after sharpening and oiling the joints. :)
