What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Today it is a new addition to my Opinel collection. A number 8 with an olive wood handle. Sharpened and stropped right after unboxing. I usually prefer the carbon blades, but I really wanted this olive wood which was only in stock in stainless.

    How About Some Opinel Love?

I love my Opinels. They are supreme slicers, and just feel great in my hand. And this boxed set of all the Opinels was a Christmas gift from my wife a couple years ago. Can't get any better. Did I mention these things actually cut? They are scalpels!

EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Increasingly, I've been keeping it simple and minimal. These days, I carry one of these two on most days, and they are more than sufficient for my needs. And they don't scare anyone, either.

Cult of the peanut , members

I have a bunch of Spydercos and other modern pocket knives, but these are the only ones I actually carry and need. They do the jobs I need just fine. And they are also simple and beautiful.

List Your Knife Related YouTube Channels

I love Nick Shabazz. He's great. I also love some of the other channels posted here. As a city dweller myself, I really like Everyday City Carry. He is very unique. Has amazing editing skills, and is just a breath of fresh air. It's a different perspective from all those gung ho types, and just...

My go to SAK is the Executive. Perfect size for me, and the orange peeler does a lot more than peel oranges :)

    Proof delica is a boss

The Delica is one knife I will never sell or get rid of. Here's mine, with a PM2, Dragonfly 2, and Kershaw Atmos in the background lol. https://imgur.com/5A4X7nO

    Proof delica is a boss

I absolutely love the Delica and think it is a hall of famer. Unquestionably an all-time great EDC knife. But I agree with those who want a 50-50 choil. That is probably my only nitpick about the Delica. A choil like on the Dragonfly would be amazing. The thing is, the space is already there. It...

    Budget Knives

Posted about the KaBar Dozier and Opinels earlier, but forgot to mention one of the absolute budget knife kings. The Kershaw Atmos. Beautiful Sinkevich design, amazing action, super light and slicey. Only downside is the 8cr13mov steel, but it works, is stainless, and sharpens up extremely...

Looking for a (legal) knife recommendation

The Spyderco Roadie would be a good choice for NYC.

    Recommendation? New knife sharpening?

I would suggest just using a Spyderco Sharpmaker on something that already has a decent edge. Less risk of damaging or scratching up the knife, and the Sharpmaker is great at fine-tuning e fairly sharp edge.

    D2 Steel?

D2 is OK, but I think its reputation is being overblown these days. Edge retention is good, but not amazing. It's not particularly tough, and it is not the most stainless. I think people love it these days because it has become sort of the go-to steel for cheaper knives these days, replacing...

    Kershaw Atmos

The Atmos is indeed a home run at that price. I have been really impressed with mine, in terms of design, performance, action, etc. Love it.
